The Arabian is one of the world’s oldest known breeds of horse. With origins in the deserts of the Middle East, the popularity of this hardy and friendly horse spread, and it gained the interest of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy. They crossed the Bedouin Arabian with their own native horses and other specially-selected stock to create a larger riding horse for their cavalry that kept the look, resilience, endurance, and personality of the Arabian; thus, the Shagya Arabian was born!
Rosanna is a fine example of the breed, exhibiting the refinement and balance that the Shagya Arabian is known for. Her dapple rose grey coat features detailed shading that highlights her athletic build. With an alert and bright expression, it’s not hard to imagine her waiting for her rider’s next cue from the saddle, or eating up mile after mile in an endurance race!
