Bombers Classic Dee Happy Tongue Show Jumping Bit
The Dee Ring is very similar in action to the Eggbutt, it will prevent pinching of the lips and gives a slightly more solid feel against the side of the face. It also prevents the bit being pulled through the mouth. The release is slower and some slight poll pressure is introduced. The fixed cheek piece is designed to sit closely to the horse's lips and encourages flexion. A light pressure is applied to the bars and tongue by the mouthpiece and is generally accepted by the horse, achieving a better positioning of the head.
The Happy Tongue is a solid mouthpiece uniquely ported to give maximum tongue relief. The standard Happy Tongue is curved to be softer on the bars and slow in applying tongue pressure. This mouthpiece is made from blue sweet iron, meaning it is warm and sweet, helps bit acceptance, oxidizes easily, and encourages salivation. Please note, the blue color will fade with use, but the sweet taste will remain.
This is a great bit to start with if your horse is shaking its horse, sticking its tongue out, sucking its tongue back resulting in a coughing noise, trying to put its tongue over the bit, going behind the bit to avoid contact, or snatching the reins forward and down. The rider will know immediately if this bit will work as the horse will finally begin to work into the bit and accept the contact. Changing the cheekpieces would then allow the rider to adjust the level of control.
